  • The Writer's Workshoppe & Imprint Books 820 Water Street Port Townsend, WA, 98368 United States (map)

Join us for an evening of fiction drawing from myth and fairy tale, with Anca L. Szilágyi, author of DAUGHTERS OF THE AIR, and Julie Christine Johnson, author of THE CROWS OF BEARA

“Anca L. Szilágyi’s intense debut novel, ‘Daughters of the Air,’ locates a deeply personal story against the surreal backdrop of [Argentina’s Dirty War].”

-The Seattle Times

“Anca Szilágyi’s Daughters of the Air is a fantastic debut…a product of alchemy, a creation of unearthly talents.”

-Paul Constant, “2017 in Review: The Seattle Novels That Made My Year,” The Seattle Review of Books

“The Crows of Beara is a love song to Ireland that combines dazzling views of wild, sweeping landscapes with a hard, honest look at the need for jobs in the country’s rural west…Johnson’s writing is assured and passionate.”

-Washington Independent Review of Books

“You don’t have to love rain or Guinness or wild, windswept coasts to be seduced by the delicate intermingling of Irish mythology, environmentalism, and love that are entangled at the heart of this novel; the juxtaposition with darker, harder truths of grief and addiction create a rich and reflective resonance. From France to Ireland, across centuries and oceans...where will this author take us next?”

Jenny Williams, author of The Atlas of Forgotten Places
